Spring Camp 2015

Here are some images highlighting just a small handful of the many projects we tackled during YMakers at Spring Camp at the Presidio Community YMCA! Thank you to all of the amazingly talented and curious Makers who came each day, and thank you to their families for their support of our budding program. We look forward to many more Makes in the future!

During camp we learned about safety practices that will help us Make responsibly for the rest of our lives. We learned about our Maker Lineage by studying Makers from Early America, the Italian Renaissance, the ancient Mayans, Egyptians,  all the way back to our oldest ancestor Makers who left their artwork in caves throughout the world. We studied project planning, measuring and marking, and layout and design. We learned about and used many tools, from retractable utility knives to chop saws, to hand saws and the drill press, screw drivers, power drills and drivers and more. We helped each other, we thanked each other, we shared stories, and we all got to take home something special.
